4 Body Toning Exercises To Do At Home

Some people don't like the idea going to gym where lots of other people are training or simply don't have the time to travel to and from the gym on a regular basis. 1. Push-Ups.

Push-ups are one of the best exercises to do at home to work your arms, upper chest, back and abdominal muscles. When you do a normal push-up, make sure you place your arms shoulder length apart and keep your back completely straight. To make it tougher, go to a regular push-up position on the floor but put your hands together in the form of a diamond shape.

2. Jump Ropes.

Another good way to exercise at home is to use a skipping rope, or jump rope. Using a jumping rope exercises your arms, your legs and your cardiovascular system. It may take a little time learning how to exercise at home with a jump rope but you will be amazed at how quickly your technique will improve with this fat loss workout. If you don't have a jump rope you can just imagine that you're holding one and do the same actions.

3. Free Weights.

You can buy some great equipment for your exercises to do at home for the price of one month gym membership. When you have a set of weights, you can do just about anything you can do at the gym from the comfort of your own home. Resistance or strength training is often considered one of the best ways to lose weight because muscles burn more calories, even while they are at rest. With a set of weights, you can use a mixture of bell presses, deadlifts, shoulder presses, raises, rows, curls and more to exercise almost any muscle in your body.

4. Squats.

Squats are probably the most popular exercises to do at home for the lower body. Your legs are the biggest set of muscles in your body. If you exercise your legs properly, you'll tone your lower body and your increase your whole metabolism. This will help you burn fat throughout your entire body. The most important thing when doing squats is to do them in a gradual and purposeful way, both going down and up. Your upward motion is just as important as your downward motion.
