Niger State to review Salaries of Civil Servants

Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Hon. Ahmed Marafa, has said that the present administration will come up with a new salary structure that will put smile on the faces of civil servants.
Marafa made this disclosure when the management and students of Newgate College of Health Technology, Minna, paid him a courtesy visit, Wednesday.
The Speaker revealed his displeasure at the plight of civil servants who depend on their meager salary for livelihood, pointing out that workers’ condition of service would be  revisited, as only very few civil servants can survive without taking credit facilities.
Marafa averred further that until the reward system for public service was good, workers will continue to resort to anything to make ends meet.
He then disclosed that it was because of the important role the public service plays in the sustenance of the society that the present administration was working on new salary structure that will put smile on the faces of workers.
He commended the initiative of the founder and director of Newgate College of Health Technology, Mal. Hassan Nuhu, urging him not to relent until he fully achieves his dreams.
He expressed happiness that the Newgate College was a big success despite the daunting challenges confronted by the founder, and  urged people to imbibe the entrepreneurial spirit of Mal. Hassan Nuhu who through thick and thin established the school to add value to his society.
The Speaker advised the students to put seriousness in their studies, pledging to award the best and outstanding student every year to spur others.
He said he will personally market the school to members of the House who may likely sponsor some of their constituents in the school.
