Celebrities React To Ted Cruz Dropping Out Of Presidential Race

Ted Cruz dropped out of the presidential race on Tuesday night, and now celebrities are reacting to his decision on Twitter.

Cruz suspended his campaign for the Republican nomination after coming in second to Donald Trump in the Indiana primary. The turn of events comes just days after he picked Carly Fiorina as his vice presidential running mate. She, too, was competing in the 2016 election for president before bowing out in February.

Now with Cruz stepping aside, Trump has an even clearer path to becoming the GOP nominee. And not surprisingly, stars on Twitter are sounding off. Larry King commented, “#Cruz is out of the race. Now, the question is: Can @realDonaldTrump unify the GOP and get former haters on his side.” Albert Brooks joked, “Donald Trump to officially change Ted’s name to ‘Lyin Down Ted.'”

Bill Maher remarked, “Ted Cruz just said what built his campaign was the support of 4 year olds. So long, douchebag.” While no Trump fan, Andy Cohen tweeted, “Don’t let the door hit you on the way out Ted.” Katie Couric also wrote to her followers, “Wow. Cruz out. Looks like Clinton/Trump in November. What do you all think? #craziestelectionever.”

“Great of Cruz to wait till now to be honest about how awful Trump is and STILL he won’t say he won’t support him,” observed Judd Apatow. “Glee” star Kevin McHale exclaimed, “Well done idiots. Trump? Really?!” And Russell Simmons simply posted, “#NeverTrump.” Meanwhile, Ohio governor John Kasich is still staying in the race… for now.
